Taehyun Kim(11) and Yejune Lee(10) Win Award at Hybrid Plastic Reduction Action Contest

Taehyun Kim(11) and Yejune Lee(10) recently earned recognition at the Hybrid Plastic Reduction Action Contest, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and commitment to environmental sustainability. The competition encouraged students to develop innovative ideas while taking meaningful action to reduce plastic usage in daily life.

Taehyun and Yejune were inspired to participate to combine their individual strengths into one collaborative project. They presented their ideas through media while also carrying out practical environmental actions focused on plastic reduction. Their shared goal to make a positive environmental impact which motivated them throughout the entire process.

To prepare for the competition, the students divided tasks based on their personal strengths. One student focused on planning and producing the presentation video, while the other led the plastic reduction initiatives. Throughout the preparation period, they regularly shared updates, exchanged feedback, and refined their work together to ensure the project reflected both creativity and real-world action.

One of the biggest challenges they faced was managing two different types of preparation simultaneously—developing media contents and organizing environmental activities. They successfully worked through this challenge by setting clear roles, establishing structured timelines, and maintaining consistent communication as a team.

Through the competition, Taehyun and Yejune learned valuable lessons about teamwork and collaboration. They discovered how combining different approaches and perspectives can boost up the overall quality of a project. Their ability to divide roles effectively while maintaining strong communication became their greatest strength and played a key role in their success.

When they found out that they won an award, both students felt proud that their dedication, teamwork, and efforts in both media presentation and environmental action were recognized. Their achievement reflects not only their creativity and teamwork skills but also their strong sense of social responsibility.

Taehyun Kim and Yejune Lee’s accomplishment highlights the importance of student-driven environmental initiatives and demonstrates how young learners can contribute to global challenges. We look forward to seeing how they continue to grow into responsible global citizens and future leaders for a change.
