Taehyun Kim(11) recently earned a Silver Award at the International Conference on Convergence Science, marking a meaningful milestone in his academic journey. The conference brought together students and professors from around the world, offering a global platform for sharing research and exchanging ideas across disciplines.
Taehyun was motivated to join the conference because he wanted to share his research with a global audience and receive feedback from international professors. He saw the experience as a chance to grow beyond the classroom and challenge himself academically.
To prepare, Taehyun first organized his research findings into a paper with clear statistical results. He then created a presentation based on his paper and spent significant time practicing his English pronunciation and fluency. Knowing that the Q&A session with professors would last several minutes, he also carefully prepared answers to possible questions.
One of the biggest challenges was that his research topic felt less eye-catching than those of other participants. Instead of feeling discouraged, Taehyun focused on going deeper into his content and strengthening the quality of his research and presentation. By repeatedly practicing his presentation in front of friends and his advisor, he became comfortable presenting without a script and gained confidence in both his content and pronunciation.
Through this experience, he learned how valuable it is to share research with others and gain new insights through discussion. He also realized that effective presenting is not just about knowledge, but about confidence.
When the conference ended, Taehyun felt proud that he had successfully presented his research in English. He also shared his gratitude for everyone who supported him throughout the preparation process.
With this meaningful achievement, Taehyun Kim has taken a confident step forward as a young researcher, and we are excited to see where his passion for learning will take him next.
