SSI Jeopardy – Learning the college application process competitively!
On February 21, 2025, students engaged in an exciting and educational game of SSI Jeopardy, an event designed to help them navigate the college admissions process in a fun and interactive way.
The game featured five key categories:
📌 Application Process
📌 Essays
📌 Extracurriculars
📌 Standardized Tests
📌 College Selection
To add an element of unpredictability, a random grade number generator determined which grade level would step up to answer each question. Once a question was revealed, students collaborated within their groups to come up with the best response.
Teams earned points for correct answers, making the game both competitive and informative.
Beyond the competition, the event fostered a collaborative learning experience, especially for younger students. Many 9th-graders gained valuable insights from their 10th and 11th-grade teammates, who shared their experiences and knowledge about the college application process. Topics such as how to craft a compelling essay, the importance of extracurriculars, and how to select the right college sparked meaningful discussions.
By the end of the event, students walked away with a deeper understanding of college admissions and greater confidence in their future applications. College Application Jeopardy was not only a fun challenge but also an eye-opening experience for students at all grade levels.
