New Student Orientation Kicks Off Exciting Year at Seoul Scholars International

As the sun rises on a brand-new academic year, Seoul Scholars International (SSI) students were warmly welcomed into the fold with an exciting and informative orientation held on August 12, 2024. This event marked the official beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, and it was packed with all the essential information that new students need to thrive in their high school journey.

The orientation kicked off with an introduction to the school’s dedicated counselors, who will be guiding students through their academic and personal growth throughout the year. From there, students were given a sneak peek into the school calendar, ensuring they knew exactly what to expect from the year ahead.

Navigating a new school can be daunting, but SSI made sure every student is prepared. The orientation covered how to access and understand class schedules, locate classrooms, and get involved in the various after-school programs available this fall. These programs promise to be as diverse as they are engaging, offering something for everyone, whether you’re into sports, arts, or academic enrichment.

One of the highlights of the orientation was a lively pop-up questionnaire that kept the students on their toes. This interactive session was not only a fun way to test what they had learned so far but also a great icebreaker, allowing students to start building connections with their peers.

The session also covered important SSI policies, such as attendance, disciplinary actions, textbook and locker usage, and the all-important uniform policies. In addition, students were introduced to the online platforms used at SSI, ensuring they were tech-ready from day one.

To keep students motivated throughout the year, SSI introduced two exciting reward programs: the “Participation and Behavior (P&B) Points” and “Scholar Dollars (SD).” These programs are designed to reward positive behavior, active participation, and academic achievement, making the school experience both enriching and rewarding.

No orientation would be complete without a delicious lunch, and SSI did not disappoint. After absorbing all the information, students were treated to a mouth-watering feast that included everyone’s favorites: pizza and chicken. This meal was the perfect ending to an informative and fun-filled day, leaving students energized and excited for the year ahead.
