Congratulations to Our Hanwha Science Challenge Finalists!
We are thrilled to announce that two of our 11th grade students, Taewon Heo and Giwon Kim, have achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a spot in the top 20 of the prestigious Hanwha Science Challenge. Their project, which explores cost-efficient methods to optimize solar energy capture, has been recognized by the judges of the competition.
Taewon and Giwon’s project focuses on the idea that decreasing the slant of solar panels can enhance cost efficiency. By strategically altering the angle, they discovered a way to maximize energy absorption while minimizing installation and maintenance expenses. Additionally, their research incorporated coating the panels with silicon, which has shown to further boost energy absorption rates. This dual approach not only enhances the efficiency of solar panels but also represents a significant step towards more sustainable and economical renewable energy solutions.
Their dedication, creativity, and scientific acumen have brought honor to our school, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements. We wish them continued success as they advance to the next stages of the competition. Taewon and Giwon’s work exemplifies the innovative spirit and academic excellence that we strive to cultivate in all our students.
Once again, congratulations to Taewon and Giwon for this outstanding achievement!
