2023 Field Day

After a long wait of three years, SSI has finally hosted its annual field day event, and it was an incredible success! All the students came together in four teams – Team Yellow, Team Green, Team Purple, and Team Red – to participate in numerous exciting and challenging games, making it an unforgettable experience.
The event took place on April 21, Friday, at 9 am in the beautiful Daechi River Park, with warm spring sunshine and perfect weather. All the SSI students gathered at the school and marched towards the park together. As they arrived, they were greeted with an atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy, and they immediately formed their teams. The event kicked off with a thrilling Rock, Paper, Scissors game between the host and the students, where Lee (10) emerged as the last student standing, to the cheers of her team.
Next, the students played Catch the Tail, where they had to use their dexterity to catch their opponent’s tails. The game was followed by the 3-Legged race, where students paired up and had to coordinate their movements to race against other teams. After the race, they tested their strength in a game of Tug-of-War, with a special teacher versus student match, where the teachers emerged victorious.
After a few games of Kickball, which filled the air with excitement and cheers, the students took a break for lunch. They were served delicious pizza, chicken, and the all-time favorite Ddeokbokki, which was devoured with great enthusiasm by everyone. Following the break, the students played Dodgeball and Soccer, and then geared up for the bubble ball suit fight, where they bounced their opponents off the field, to the delight of the spectators.
Finally, the event concluded with the much-awaited Relay Race, where students cheered for their teammates representing their teams. It was an epic finish to a day filled with fun and excitement. To end the event on a high note, each student was given two raffle tickets to win fabulous prizes, making it an unforgettable day for everyone.
Overall, the 2023 SSI Field Day was a huge success, filled with excitement, and it brought the entire SSI community together. We look forward to hosting more such events in the future, and we can’t wait to see what the next one has in store for us!
